LEARN TO COOK WITH THE MICROWAVE

LEARN TO COOK WITH THE MICROWAVE

Here are some tips that will give you a unique experience to enjoy the great benefits of preparing your meals with the microwave.

Here are some microwave cooking tips:

• Do not use the microwave oven without food inside.

• To clean the inside of the microwave oven, boil water in a bowl with a tablespoon of vinegar and / or lemon juice. The vinegar performs the function of eliminating bad odors, and the water vapor dissolves the fat. Then dry with a semi-damp cloth.

• Avoid using detergents and abrasives such as dishwashing liquid or sponges. These elements can cause cracks in the oven, which affects its proper functioning.

• How to know if a container is suitable for microwave use. Place a glass of water in the oven with the container to be tested. Reheat for 15 seconds. Remove both containers: if the water in the glass is hot, the tested container is microwave safe. Otherwise, don't use it.

• To heat or cook food with membranes such as eggs, tomatoes, potatoes ..., it is advisable to make incisions and cuts to avoid any explosion.

• At the end of each cooking, it is advisable to let the food rest for 2 to 3 minutes.

• Keep the oven away from obstacles to allow good ventilation.

Myths about microwave ovens:

• Ovens produce radiation. FALSE. The microwaves do not come out of the oven. They bounce in and seek water in the food.

• Microwave ovens are carcinogenic. FALSE. If this were the case, the United States would have very high death rates from the disease, as it is one of the countries that uses these devices the most.

Keep in mind that microwave ovens do not work when the door is open.
