HOW TO USE THE MICROWAVE CORRECTLY?

HOW TO USE THE MICROWAVE CORRECTLY?
The microwave allows you to cook, heat or defrost food quickly. It is very easy to use, but there are some precautions you need to take because if it is not used properly, there may be a health risk.

Are you sure you are using it correctly? With these tips, you will be able to use this device correctly and safely.

Use a suitable container.

Glass, ceramics and some microwaveable plastics are recommended. These materials transmit radiation and do not heat themselves. Do not use metal or aluminum cookware as they reflect microwaves and may damage the oven.

Cut the food into small pieces.

Microwaves penetrate foods to a depth of 3 to 5 centimeters, depending on their composition. When the pieces are small, the radiation penetrates completely, causing faster and more even heating.

Mix foods for even heating.

It is difficult to ensure an even distribution of the microwaves inside the oven, which causes uneven heating of the food. In order to avoid this inconvenience, the devices are equipped with a turntable. Even so, it is always best to stop cooking to stir or move food. This will allow more even heating.

Do not use airtight containers.

Covering foods with a lid helps retain more moisture. However, be sure to leave a space between the lid and the container to allow the steam generated during cooking to escape.

Do not use it for heating water.

Heating water in the microwave can be dangerous due to the risk of overheating. This happens when water is heated beyond the boiling point, but no bubbles are produced to indicate that it is boiling. When removing the container from the microwave, it may happen that due to movement, a “blowout” of boiling water occurs, causing burns.
