The stove near the counter

There are different types of stoves on the market, but regardless, you'll want the stove and / or the hob to end up near a food prep counter for easy transportation from one place to another. Nothing worse than having to go through the kitchen with each of the foods to put in the oven or put in a pan!

The dishwasher near the sink

The dishwasher should be placed near the sink to facilitate the rinsing and cleaning phase. Supper is over, we want to get rid of it as quickly as possible. We rinse the plates at the sink and presto! They are placed directly next to them in the dishwasher. Note that it would also be very handy to have a trash can nearby.

The refrigerator near the food preparation area

The refrigerator should be located near where the food is being prepared to facilitate the process. We want to have quick access to the ingredients needed for our meal and thus speed things up.

 

The coffee maker and toaster: out of my sight!

In an ideal world, you make a breakfast nook that you can even hide in a small resealable box or in a cupboard. While great for waking us up in the morning, these small appliances are often bulky and look unattractive in a sleek, modern type of kitchen.


Of course, we know very well that a perfectly laid out kitchen is very difficult to achieve unless you start from a new construction.
